The scene opens with a disappointed father, Tom, walking into his stepdaughter's room. His eyes scan the messy floor and unmade bed before settling on her, who's lying on her stomach, seemingly engrossed in her phone.
"Hey sweetheart, I thought you'd finished your homework," he says, trying to hide his annoyance.
"I did, Dad," she replies, not looking up.
Tom sighs and walks over to her, bending down to see her screen. His face contorts in confusion when he sees an innocent game being played. He takes a deep breath and decides to confront her.
"Are you sure this is your homework?" he asks, his voice stern.
Without looking at him, she mumbles, "Yeah, it's just a little game to help me practice my math."
